Sandpiper

Arctic Tern

These little creatures I found are the hardest things I've ever photographed, as they move so fast and dart up and down all over the place. You sure need a quick steady hand and that can be hard holding a camera with a telephoto lens.

Osprey

The osprey is fascinating to watch. It can spot a meal of decent sized trout from quite a distance as it hovers in the air, beating its wings readying itself to take a quick descent toward its unsuspecting prey.

Manuels ~ Conception Bay South
Topsail ~ Conception Bay South

When a friend of mine saw this photo she said she could envision "little fairies or leprechauns" dancing about. Newfoundland has its share of interesting fairy folklore that's for sure!

Manuels River trail
Manuels ~ Conception Bay South

Manuels River is internationally known for its fossilized trilobytes and rocks millions of years old.
Abandoned
Holyrood ~ Conception Bay South

Something always sparks my imagination whenever I see old abandoned homes such as this one. What sights, sounds had it grown accustomed to, the echo of laughter, a creaking floor, children playing who have long since grown and moved on, delicate frost patterns on a window pane...now sheep graze here to keep it company.
