Corner Brook
What a beautiful autumn day here in Newfoundland today. The season was never a favorite of mine, it was the precursor to winter and we know here in this province that our winters last much longer than we'd like. But in recent years I've come to appreciate and enjoy it! There's nothing like a beautiful hike in the woods with the birds chirping and the leaves rustling beneath your feet. Did I mention how good the fresh air feels!

Old Man in the Mountain
According to local legend, the Spanish buried a treasure on Shellbird Island in the Humber River, about five minutes from Corner Brook. "The Old Man In the Mountain" is said to be a marker for the treasure. Best seen from the rest area just off the eastbound Trans Canada Highway, Exit No. 7.
